CAFE MODINHA
PACKAGING DESIGN
BRANDING
Café Modinha is a distinguished coffee roaster, celebrated for its expertise in sourcing and roasting fair trade beans exclusively from Brazil. The notion of fair trade—a form of exchange that values artistry and integrity—sparked my curiosity and inspired this project.

During my research, I discovered the pioneering Brazilian artist Tarsila do Amaral, a leading figure in Latin American modernism whose vibrant work captures the soul of Brazilian culture. Drawing from her distinctive style, the packaging design pays homage to her legacy while celebrating the intersection of art, culture, and coffee.

Imagined as a hidden gem, Café Modinha is the kind of brand you might stumble upon while wandering through a lively neighborhood market or spot beautifully displayed on the shelves of your favorite boutique café. Designed to attract mindful, millennial coffee enthusiasts, it speaks to those who value craftsmanship, culture, and conscious consumption—individuals who see coffee not just as a ritual, but as an art form worth savoring.

What sets Café Modinha apart is its dedication to fair trade and its collaboration with the Women’s National Coffee Alliance (WCA), supporting women-led coffee farms across Brazil. This ethos extends into the visual identity, where packaging inspired by Tarsila do Amaral’s vibrant artwork reflects the brand’s core values of creativity, resilience, and equality. Every detail celebrates the artistry of ethical coffee and the women behind it.
